Dear Kei,

I am very excited about the prospect of becoming a Miami Marlins fan this baseball season. I think that you, Mordecai, Mitsu and I should begin our baseball pilgrimage in Chicago and drive to New York with detours to Detroit and Philadelphia. Then, you can leave your car in Long Island and we'll fly to Miami. It only takes a few hours and we can probably bribe a stewardess to let Mitsu fly in coach class.

We might as well pick up David Wright on the way.


Let's petition Jeff Loria to let all of us run in the mascot race.

I never really know what to expect when I check in on the list of Google keywords that lead people to this blog. This month, almost 40% of all searchers came looking for photos of Drew Brees's baby. An additional four or five people were just looking for "sports children." Well, okay. Here's a baseball child and here's Cool Breez-y Jr. at last year's Superbowl:



Joe let me steal this card from him this summer. I keep it on my desk even though I rooted for Peyton Manning, because like everyone else on the internet, I find this baby cute.

While we're on the subject, I'd like to publicly welcome the very first friend-baby to enter my life. I can't believe it. Congratulations, guys.
