One Cool Thing About Brian Wilson

“I’d like to be a crossword clue one day,” he said. “I want to be in The New York Times’s Sunday edition. Right now, the clue ‘Giants great’ is always Mel Ott. I want my clue to be down, not across. The down ones are usually harder. And when I’m the clue, I’ll fill it in — just that one — and frame it.

“How sweet would that be?”

  1. I found and read this quote to Jarrod last night! My interest in Brian Wilson was piqued having seen his beard (in the five minutes I watched of the game).

Similarly, my interest in Jayson Werth was piqued having seen five minutes of the last Phillies game in a bar. I was pleased to find your description of him as an intergalactic troglodyte who has forgotten how to use human language.
