"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."

First, I'd like to highlight Guestblogger Matt Blake's insightful post on snow bunny Tim Raines, which, due to a strange glitch the e-space-time continuum was not filed at the top of the blog.

Then, in celebration of the weekend, I give you Non-Homoerotic Photos of Baseball Men Hanging Out. Think of it as a counterpoint to Paul's post on pornography.

Casey: What are you doing this weekend, Grady?
Grady: Oh, the usual.

Kazuo: Good game!
José: Good game!

Robbie: We won the series! Let's get drunk!
Melky: I don't speak English...what?

Manny: Do you like my music?
Robbie: Yeah, I'm putting it in my ear.

"When I asked his teammate David Ortiz, himself a borderline folk hero, how he would describe Ramirez, he replied, 'As a crazy motherfucker.' Then he pointed at my notebook and said, 'You can write it down just like that: ‘David Ortiz says Manny is a crazy motherfucker.’ That guy, he’s in his own world, on his own planet. Totally different human being than everyone else.'" -Ben McGrath, The New Yorker, April 2007

David: Manny, You are crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Manny: What up, Big Papi?! I wish I were a Yankee!

Really, is there anything more beautiful than a bond of noble camaraderie between two excellent sportsmen? The joy that radiates between friends can aestheticize even the ugliest of visages (cough cough, Ortiz). Enjoy your friends this weekend, readers, and see you on Monday.
